The CLA Graduate Student Career Services Team offers comprehensive career services for CLA Doctoral and Master’s degree-seeking students and graduate alumni in the humanities, arts, and social sciences. Students are welcome to attend CLA graduate career workshops, participate in the Graduate Student Internship Program, or schedule a one-on-one appointment to explore career options, learn effective job search strategies, and practice interview techniques. Faculty and departments can consult with our team on the career needs of their students or schedule an in-house workshop.

Mackenzie Sullivan

Director of Graduate Student Career Services

How did you become a career development professional?
I got tired of what I was doing, met with a career coach, and decided I wanted her job :-)

Best Words Of Advice For Students
Your next job will not be your last job. Your career will be an iterative process, and you will continue to learn about what you like and don’t like in a job. But you can’t know all of that now, so try not to stress too much about finding the perfect job! Just find your “next step” job, and know that that’s all you need to do right now.

What’s the one thing you would do, if you were able to do it?
Become a talk show host!
