Career Services Administration serves as a convener and advocate for collegiate career services across the University of Minnesota, facilitating broad-based career-related programming and resource management for our students and employers and developing and managing partnerships with both internal and external constituents.
Sara Nagel Newberg | Executive Director

Becky Hall | Director
Becky provides project management and leadership for many of the University's coordinated career initiatives, including graduate outcomes measurement, vendor selection and contract processing, program development, and event management. She leads the office in partnering with units across the University of Minnesota system, including significant work with Global Programs and Strategy Alliance (GPS), Institutional Research, and throughout Student Affairs. Becky's experience in career development includes roles as Assistant Department Director, Career Counselor, and Consultant with emphases on clientele in the technology, engineering, and healthcare industries. She is actively involved in many professional organizations, and has served on the Executive Board and as President of the Minnesota Career Development Association. Becky earned her MA in Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, and her BAS in Psychology and Gerontology from the University of Minnesota - Duluth.
Jess Hoarn | Programming Coordinator
Jess earned her bachelor's degree in biology from Lawrence University (Appleton, WI) and an MS in environmental science and policy at the University of Chicago. Before coming to the University of Minnesota, Jess spent time working on environmental and clean energy issues both in the government and nonprofit sectors. In her current role, Jess is passionate about helping students navigate career through event management, program planning, and striving to create a warm and welcoming environment for students visiting Career Services.
Jane Sitter | International Career Consultant
Jane received her Bachelor's degree in Individualized Studies with a focus in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Minnesota College of Liberal Arts, and Masters degree in Comparative International Development Education from the University of Minnesota College of Education and Human Development. Previous to joining Career Services Administration, Jane has taught English in Seoul, South Korea at the Konkuk University English Village program, and has supported international students in higher education in residence life, first year experience, and new student transition programs. In her current role, Jane supports undergraduate international students' career development and job searching outcomes through programming for students and staff, and outreach to employers around the consideration of international candidates in their applicant pools.
Katie Kovarik | Communications & Events Coordinator
Katie received her Bachelors of Design in Architecture with minors in Interdisciplinary Design and German from the University of Minnesota College of Design. Before joining Career Services Administration as a full time staff member, Katie worked in the office as a Graphic Design Office Assistant for the entirety of her undergrad. In her current role, Katie provides operational support for the University of Minnesota Job and Internship Fair, supports communications, technology and administrative needs for CSA. As well as support of administrative needs for the Executive Director and supervises the office assistants within Career Services Administration.
